Obery Hendricks

Dr. Obery Hendricks

Dr. Obery Hendricks is a lifelong social activist, and one of the foremost commentators on the intersection of religion and political economy in America. He is the most widely read and perhaps the most influential African American biblical scholar writing today. His recent book, Christians Against Christianity: How Right-Wing Evangelicals Are Destroying Our Nation and Our Faith (Beacon Press, 2021) has gathered wide acclaim, and is central to this topic.


Grice Ji-Sun Kim

Dr. Grace Ji-Sun Kim

Grace Ji-Sun Kim was born in Korea, educated in Canada, and now teaches in the United States. She is the author or editor of 24 books on theology and has served on the American Academy of Religion’s Board of Directors. Her most recent book is Hope in Disarray; Keeping Hope Alive; Reimagining Spirit and Intersectional Theology. She is best known for books and articles on the social and religious experiences of Korean women immigrants to North America.


Gary Dorrien

Dr. Gary Dorrien

Gary Dorrien teaches social ethics, theology, and philosophy of religion as the Reinhold Niebuhr Professor of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary and Professor of Religion at Columbia University. He was previously the Parfet Distinguished Professor at Kalamazoo College. In 2024, Dorrien was awarded the Gandhi, King, Mandela Peace Prize at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
