Pro Life! Pro Guns! Pro Carnage!
David and I were in Florida last week treating our 3 grandchildren to a trip to Disney World. It was their Christmas present and we had all been looking forward to an enjoyable vacation. As David and I drove through north and central Florida we were stunned and repulsed by the enormous billboards flanking both sides of the interstate promoting the sales of assault weapons. To allure the naive, vulnerable, and vindictive patrons of guns, the billboards were those of seductive young women poised with automatic weapons between their legs. It was shocking, puzzling, and repugnant.
Within 72 hours of seeing these horrendous and abhorring billboards flanking the highways of Florida, 17 children and teachers were massacred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. There are few, if any, gun laws in the state of Florida.
Jeffery Salkin, writer for Martini Judaism, asks the questions we all need to ask ourselves in his article, “And now, Parkland.” Read it, please.
